| 内容記述 | Historical documents reveal that glass beads were one of the trade goods involved in Santan trade, the trade of the Ainu with the northern indigenous groups and Qing dynasty in the lower Amur basin. Glass beads have been found in Hokkaido and other areas of northeast Asia. Additionally, even in Aomori Prefecture, there are glass beads related to the trade. These five blue glass beads, with Chinese brocade called Ezonishiki, have been preserved in Sai village, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. In this study, we conducted X-ray fluorescence analysis to examine the characteristics of these beads. The results revealed that all five glass beads exhibited the glass same type as produced in China at that time (potash lime glass; K2O-CaO-SiO2) , suggesting that, like Ezonishiki, they may have been brought to Japan through trade networks that included China. |
